Introducing our professional development podcast series
/Hi! Thank you for listening to the podcast and for telling your friends, colleagues, and peers about it. It means so much to my co-producer and co-host Annika and me that people find the podcast useful and use some of their time every month to listen. We’ve gotten a lot of great feedback from listeners, who’ve highly recommended the podcast to all their friends and sent in some interesting questions for us to ask our guests.
I also want to talk about our new podcast series focused on answering questions about early- and mid-career professional development. Women in Foreign Policy is a career-focused network, and we are a resource for you. We went out and asked professionals in our fields (and the fields we want to break in to!) for their wisdom and advice on questions of professional development, beginning with this month’s episode on mentoring and sponsorship. In the coming months, we’ll answer other questions, like: what's the best way to network? How do I become a good public speaker? Should I get a PhD? Over the course of the next few months, we'll bring you exclusive interviews from women in the public sector, the private sector, academia, and more. The focus of each month is outlined below:
February - Networking effectively
March - Transitioning from academic life and into the professional sphere
April - Public speaking and appearing on panels
If you would like to be interviewed or know someone who would be interested in being featured, hit ‘reply’ to this email and we’ll be in touch!
We know the episodes we’ve put together for this series will be a great resource for you, no matter where you are in your career. We’d also love to hear any ideas you might have about our upcoming topics. The best way to get your questions answered is to ask them! As always, we’re happy to chat - you can reply to this email, or seek us out on Twitter and Instagram.
